Oceania Debuts Harvest Caye on Sailings to Caribbean, Cuba

The Caribbean's newest private island is open for business – and Oceania Cruises has well over two dozen itineraries that will be visiting the newest port experience on the Western Caribbean, Harvest Caye, Belize.
Developed by Oceania's parent company, Norwegian Cruise Line, Harvest Caye is one of the first private island-style destination experiences to debut in the Western Caribbean. It has been built from the ground-up to cater to cruise passengers, and is noteworthy for featuring its own pier. This eliminates the need for complex and time-consuming tendering operations, and allows guests to immediately step ashore after their ship has docked.
Half private island, half destination experience, Harvest Cay puts cruise guests within reach of mainland Belize, with its Mayan ruins and abundant natural beauty. Oceania has begun featuring the Western Caribbean's newest port of call on many of its Caribbean cruises, including its first voyages to Cuba aboard Insignia and Marina.
“Belize is one of the most ecologically and culturally rich gems in the Caribbean, and Harvest Caye will be the perfect destination for guests to experience all that the country has to offer in authentic, unique ways,” said Andy Stuart, president and chief operating officer for Norwegian Cruise Line. “There is so much to do on the island from the spectacular seven-acre beach and watersports to interactive wildlife programs. Beyond Harvest Caye, we will strongly encourage our guests to explore Belize through the spectacular eco-adventure and cultural tours this incredible destination has to offer visitors.”
Oceania is giving guests plenty to do during their time on Harvest Caye. Guests can rent an electric boat and take it for a spin, or kick back and relax with a full-day luxury beach villa excursion. Other excursions on offer include tours of Mayan ruins, spice plantations, river tubing, mangrove and estuary explorations, jungle river rafting, and even a ride in a mini submarine.
